Cosmetic Dental Procedures

    Teeth Whitening

We offer two types of teeth whitening procedures to address discoloration of enamel and dentin caused by lifestyle factors.

The first option is Zoom Whitening, an in-office treatment that takes about an hour. We cover the lips and gums, leaving only the teeth exposed. Then, we apply Zoom hydrogen peroxide gel and activate it with a special light. This process is repeated three times, each lasting 15 minutes. Afterwards, patients receive an at-home touch-up kit with a custom-fitted bleaching tray.

Our second option is a take-home Bleaching Tray. We take impressions and provide the tray within 1-2 days. Patients apply the whitening gel to the tray and wear it for 15-20 minutes daily over a six-month period. We recommend applying vaseline to the gums to prevent sensitivity during prolonged use.

    Sealants

Dental sealants are thin, plastic coatings applied to the surface of teeth, typically the back teeth. They provide protection against sensitivity, decay, and certain infections. We usually recommend sealants for children 12 and under. The application is a quick process, taking only 5-10 minutes during a regular cleaning and exam appointment. Sealants are applied once per tooth, but if the barrier is compromised, we may propose alternative treatments.

    Veneers

Veneers are customizable porcelain shells that fit over teeth to improve their appearance. They’re particularly helpful for patients with chipped, stained, or misshapen teeth. The process typically requires 2-3 visits.

We usually discuss veneers during a regular cleaning and exam, where we develop a treatment plan. At the first visit, we prepare the teeth by trimming the enamel and taking impressions. These are sent to the lab, which takes about 2-3 weeks to process. We place temporary veneers and agree on the final color and shape with the patient.

At the final visit, we clean the teeth thoroughly and roughen the surface for better adhesion. We then attach the veneers with a special cement, hardening it with ultraviolet light. After approving the final fit and color, we may schedule a follow-up visit if necessary.
