Crown Procedures: CEREC Same-Day and Traditional Methods
Our practice offers two efficient methods for dental crown placement: the innovative CEREC same-day procedure and the traditional two-visit approach. Each method has its own merits and process.

CEREC Same-Day Crown Procedure
The CEREC method utilizes advanced technology to provide crowns in a single appointment. After preparing the tooth, we use a specialized camera to capture precise 3D images, eliminating the need for traditional impressions. Our in-office milling machine then fabricates the crown in approximately one hour, allowing for same-day placement.

Traditional Two-Visit Crown Procedure
The traditional method occurs over two appointments:
First Visit (45-60 minutes): We take initial impressions, prepare the tooth, take final impressions, and place a temporary crown. The impressions are sent to a dental laboratory for crown fabrication.
Second Visit: We remove the temporary crown, ensure proper fit of the permanent crown, make any necessary adjustments, and cement it in place.
Both methods result in high-quality, durable crowns. The choice between them depends on individual case factors, patient preferences, and technology availability. We’re happy to discuss which option might be most suitable for your specific needs.
